Watch CEO Fazila Seker’s keynote at TechTO

November 6, 2025

Insight Medbotics CEO and Board of Directors member Fazila Seker spoke at TechTO’s Health Toronto event on September 10, 2025. Her talk, “The Craft of Building Traction for your MedTech Startup: Untold Stories from the Road Less Traveled,” is now available to watch on YouTube.

“It’s always exciting to interact with a live audience,” says Seker. “My goal was to help technology builders attending the talk to think about their target customers on a deeper level, gain insight into how industry alliances work, and learn better ways to create traction in a challenging technology market. They had good questions, which you’ll see at the end of the presentation.”

In this clip, Seker describes Insight Medbotics’ recent pivot from a FDA 510k approval for breast biopsy into advancing precision in prostate cancer care with its proven robotics platform.

What else does Seker recommend to technologists entering the medtech space?

  1. When you hire, focus on attracting great talent over filling a job title. In a company’s early stages, you want people who behave like owners, willing to take on tasks that need doing and who are excited by the opportunity to learn, adapt, and hustle while you grow.
  2. Build a balanced Board of Directors—you want to work with people who have the experience and connections reflective to your company's stage. Their role is to challenge you and help with introductions to key decision makers, such as physicians, investors and strategic partners.
  3. Seek other experts who complement your Board of Directors. These more informal advisers and mentors can help you see around your blind spots.

The event, organized in tandem with OneEleven, brought together leaders, founders, investors, engineers, and product managers who are transforming healthcare through technology.
